Welcome to The King Edward Care Home
At The King Edward Care Home, we offer unrivalled dementia care tailored to enhance the well-being of our residents. Experience safety and dignity with our expert team.

About Our Care Philosophy
The King Edward Care Home is a small, friendly home for up to 13 residents, which allows us to get to know each person as an individual. We focus on what makes each resident unique—their life story, habits, and what makes their day feel meaningful. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where people living with dementia can continue to enjoy life and feel valued.
⸻
Our Care
We provide support that’s tailored to each person, recognising their preferences and abilities:
Residential Dementia Care: Gentle assistance with personal care, medication, meals, and daily routines, always respecting individual choices.
Health & Wellbeing Support: We work closely with GPs, community nurses, and therapists to ensure
residents’ physical and emotional health needs are met.
Activities & Engagement: Residents can take part in music, reminiscence, gentle exercise, arts & crafts, and seasonal events—activities are designed around their interests and abilities.
Short Stays & Respite: Flexible placements are available for recovery or to give families a break.
End-of-Life Care: Compassionate care that respects residents’ wishes and involves families at every stage.
Family Support: We keep families informed and involved, welcoming them to visit and participate in care whenever they like.
⸻
Supporting People Living with Dementia
We aim to make everyday life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible:
• Our Environment: Clear signage, homely décor, and thoughtful design help reduce confusion and make the home feel familiar.
• Communication: Staff use calm, reassuring language and offer choices, listening carefully to residents’ needs and preferences.
• Routines & Daily Life: We maintain familiar routines but adapt them for each resident, incorporating their personal history and habits.
• Safety with Independence: Residents are encouraged to do as much as they can for themselves, with safety measures in place to give reassurance.
• Positive Behaviour Support: We look for triggers to distress and support residents proactively, helping them feel secure and understood.
⸻
